Workshops for Parents and Teachers

At ILD, we believe that parents and professionals need up-to-date information and cutting-edge research-based educational strategies to help students who struggle with reading, math, writing, attention, executive function, and motivation.  ILD presenters anchor their talks in their clinical and educational expertise and knowledge of students with LD, ADHD, and executive function difficulties.

Workshops for Parents

Our parent workshops are held to support families whose children or adolescents are struggling with executive function processes. Typical problem areas that parents are faced with include:  procrastination, organizational difficulties, poor time management skills, and lack of effective checking strategies.  Through our workshops, parents better understand the underlying causes for these EF difficulties, as well as learn new approaches grounded in research and best practice.

Workshops for Professionals

ILD and ResearchILD offer a wide array of high quality professional development options that target a school or school district’s specific educational needs.  Our workshops are hands-on, and educators leave with practical approaches and strategies that they can implement immediately.    We believe that a well-designed professional development plan incorporates many layers of learning.  The plan may include an introductory presentation or workshop, quarterly strategy sessions, bi-weekly or monthly individual or small group coaching, and an end of the year strategy fair.  Also check out our ResearchILD site for Professional Development opportunities for educators and other professionals.
